Ingenuity & Resourcefulness in Manatee County

Who would have thought to use 3-D printing to aid our healthcare workers? Mr. Nowicki from Dr. Mona Jain Middle School in Bradenton, that’s who! In addition to teaching his students through e-learning and helping home school his own children, technology teacher Mr. Nowicki is “printing” a difference!

In his spare bedroom, Mr. Nowicki keeps a handful of 3-D printers he borrowed from several schools throughout Manatee County. He now has five working to create face shields for local healthcare workers at all hours of the day and night.

In 10 days, this project has turned into a group effort with other teachers and advisors jumping on board – and they have produced over 100 face shields so far! Each one takes two hours to print but the lasting impact of their kindness will last a lifetime.
