On June 29, 2020, Governor Ron DeSantis signed into law SB 72 – Higher Education and HB 115 – Keep Our Graduates Working Act.
SB 72 - Higher Education - This legislation modifies requirements for higher education institutions as they relate to building projects, grant programs, academic/research standards and establishes the Florida Institute of Politics and the Adam Smith Center for the Study of Economic Freedom. HB 115 - Keep Our Graduates Working Act – This legislation establishes that state authorities cannot deny, refuse to renew, suspend or revoke professional licenses, certificates or registrations solely because a student loan borrower is in default or is delinquent on federal or state student loans.
