State Board of Education Signs Resolution Urging Florida Legislature to Support Historic Per-Student Funding

Tallahassee, Fla., June 1, 2015 – Today, the State Board of Education members signed a resolution asking the Florida Legislature to increase per-student funding to the highest level in Florida’s history, making an unprecedented investment in Florida’s future.

State Board of Education Chair Marva Johnson said, “In Florida, under Governor Scott's leadership, we have worked hard to achieve a substantial surplus and I believe it is critical that it is used to ensure our state’s students are prepared for success in college, career and life. As we approach the Special Session, the Board is encouraging the Florida Legislature to honor the Board’s and Governor Scott’s request to achieve record level of per-student funding.”
