Florida Department of Education Employees Donate School Supplies to Pineview Elementary School

Tallahassee, Fla., August 26, 2016 – Yesterday, Chancellor of K-12 Public Schools Hershel Lyons delivered school supplies donated by Department of Education employees to Pineview Elementary School in Leon County.

Chancellor Lyons said, “I am proud of the generosity that Department of Education staff showed through our school supply drive. Every student deserves to start the school year with the supplies they need to achieve success. The FDOE team stepped up in a big way to help Pineview’s students start the school year off right.”

Pineview Elementary School Principal Dr. Marilyn Jackson-Rahming said, “It was a pleasure to have Chancellor Lyons deliver school supplies and read to our students this morning. He was simply delightful and the children loved him! We are so appreciative of his time and the support of all who donated supplies. As I encourage all my students, in this world, it is not what we take but what we give that makes us rich.”

Six large moving boxes of school supplies were generously donated by Department of Education employees. Supplies included crayons, pencils, paper, folders, markers, notebooks and other items essential for student success in school.
