Florida Students Move Ahead to National Competition

Tallahassee, Fla., October 21, 2013 - Four Florida students' posters are headed to a national competition after winning first place in a contest sponsored by the Florida Association for Pupil Transportation. Using the theme "At My Stop, You Stop," students created original artwork that shows how to be safe when school buses are nearby. The national winning poster will promote National School Bus Safety Week in 2014.

"What a great reminder of the exceptional talent we have right here in the Sunshine State," said Commissioner of Education Pam Stewart. "These students are using their creativity to bring awareness to an issue that impacts the lives of children every day. I wish these four winners the best of luck in the coming national competition."
