Department to Hold Public Meetings on Florida Standards

Tallahassee, Fla., October 3, 2013 - The Florida Department of Education will hold three public meetings on the state's mathematics and English language arts (ELA) standards in accordance with Governor Scott's executive order. Floridians who are unable to attend the public meetings are encouraged to submit their feedback via email or on a designated website.

"Florida's families deserve rigorous, clear standards that will prepare our students for success in college and career," said Commissioner of Education Pam Stewart. "We look forward to the public's input, especially from teachers, students and their parents who are currently using these standards in their classrooms, to ensure that they meet our state's high expectations."

Floridians can submit their feedback in three ways.
