Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! Race Car to Visit Daytona 500
Tallahassee, Fla., February 22, 2013 -The Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! Take the Lead and Read race car will participate in the parade lap at the Daytona 500 on Sunday to showcase the importance of reading and literacy. Wrapped in the logos of the Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! educational partners and the message of reading, the race car visited more than 18,000 students throughout Florida over the past three months.
As part of the Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! celebration, students from all over the state participated in creative initiatives to promote literacy, including a public service announcement contest and the Million Minute Marathon. Sponsors of this year's Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! celebration include The Florida Lottery, National Geographic-Cengage, Scholastic, Novachi, Learning A-Z, and Daytona International Speedway.
