State Board of Education Member to Visit Palm Beach Charter Schools

Tallahassee, Fla. - Continuing the weeklong celebration of National Charter School Week, State Board of Education member Barbara Feingold will visit two Palm Beach charter schools tomorrow. She will be joined by Michael Kooi, Executive Director of the Florida Department of Education's Office of Independent Education and Parental Choice.

Charter schools are independent public schools created on the basis of an agreement between a group of school organizers and a sponsoring school district. Each is unique in their educational approach and has their own governing board that is responsible for setting policies and procedures.
