Florida Missing Children's Day Statewide Essay Contest underway
Calling all fifth-graders!Tallahassee, Fla. - The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Florida Department of Education have partnered for the annual Florida Missing Children's Day Statewide Essay Contest. This year's essay contest theme is "Think Before You Click: Staying Safe on the Internet and Social Media."

The contest was designed to promote safety awareness among Florida's children and is open to all fifth-grade students in Florida schools. One winning essay will be selected from each school and the FDLE Missing Endangered Persons Information Clearinghouse will choose a statewide winner. The statewide winner will read his or her essay during the Florida Missing Children's Day ceremony on Sept. 8, 2014 at the Florida Capitol and will receive a trophy, a $100 cash award and a Universal Studios Very Important Person package.
