Florida Department of Education Announces 3rd Annual Florida College System Cybersecurity Competition Winners

Tallahassee, Fla., November 6, 2025 – Today, the Florida Department of Education (FDOE) announced the winners of the 3rd Annual Florida College System (FCS) Cybersecurity Competition. The competition brought together students from across FCS institutions to showcase their talent and put their cybersecurity skills to the test in a virtual cyber range, simulating real-world challenges faced by industry professionals.

As the demand for cybersecurity talent continues to rise, the FCS is answering the call by expanding opportunities and preparing a workforce ready to meet industry needs. Nearly 4,500 students are enrolled in FCS cybersecurity programs to gain hands-on experience and practical training to succeed in this critical field.

“Witnessing these students tackle complex cybersecurity challenges has been truly impressive,” said Commissioner of Education Anastasios Kamoutsas. “Their ingenuity, perseverance and critical thinking skills demonstrate that Florida is cultivating a strong cybersecurity pipeline. Thanks to their hard work and dedication, the future of cybersecurity in our great state is incredibly bright.”

Competition Winning Teams:

  • First Place: Palm Beach State College’s PBSC Cyber Force
  • Second Place: Daytona State College’s Falconsec
  • Third Place: St. Petersburg College’s Titan Sec 1

All student participants received a cyber range certification provided by Global Business Solutions, Inc. The winning teams were selected using an established ranking system that evaluated their ability to efficiently manage, operate and defend the network infrastructures of multiple simulated organizations. The event was made possible through the generous support of the Florida Department of Education, the Florida College System Foundation, the Florida Student Success Center, Capital City Wealth, Cyber Florida and Bill Cramer Chevrolet.

The Cybersecurity Competition is an initiative of the Florida College System, established through the FCS Cybersecurity Collaborative. This Collaborative unites cybersecurity leaders from all 28 FCS institutions to share best practices and strengthen workforce partnerships within the FCS to increase opportunities for students and improve Florida’s cybersecurity.
