Floridians Weigh in as New Assessment Standards Take Shape

Tallahassee, Fla., October 3, 2012 - In September, the Florida Department of Education invited educators, business and community leaders, and higher education representatives to participate in establishing new achievement level standards as Florida moves forward with Biology I and Geometry End-of Course assessments, and the FCAT 2.0 Science assessment (grades 5 and 8). The panels met during the last two weeks in September to make recommendations on the cut scores that will define the new benchmarks for Florida's K-12 students.

The next step is a series of rule development workshops to get public input. The dates and locations of the workshops are below.
