2025-2026 Chancellor’s Leadership Academy Opening Institute

Lake Mary, Fla., October 21-23, 2025 – The 2025-2026 Chancellor’s Leadership Academy Opening Institute was held October 21-23, 2025, in Lake Mary, to strengthen the skills of educational leaders across the state of Florida. The academy, created through a partnership between the Florida Department of Education’s Bureau for Educator Recruitment, Development and Retention (BERDR) and the Bureau of School Improvement (BSI), is a year-long, job-embedded, and research-based program that supports Florida’s educational leaders by fostering a statewide community of leaders with a shared vision for academic excellence.

The 2025-2026 academy provides 36 executive leaders (including district leaders, charter and private school executive leaders), 63 principals and 47 assistant principals (PDF) with professional learning opportunities to deepen knowledge and skills in identifying high-quality teaching and learning, observation, analysis and targeted feedback, and Florida’s state academic standards to support student achievement.
