Bright Futures Scholarship Program Events in Miami

Miami, Fla., September 16, 2025 - On September 16 and 17, 2025, Commissioner Kamoutsas and Florida Lottery Secretary John Davis visited six Miami-Dade County high schools, including North Miami Beach Senior High, Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High, Miami Norland Senior High, Miami Carol City Senior High, Miami Central Senior High and Miami Northwestern Senior High. During the visits, Commissioner Kamoutsas and Secretary Davis spoke to more than 2,000 students, highlighting the valuable opportunities available through the Bright Futures Scholarship Program.

Funded by the Florida Lottery, Bright Futures rewards academic achievement and community service by providing financial assistance for students to attend Florida colleges and universities. Each year, thousands of students benefit, but in 2024, more than 10,000 qualified students across the state missed the chance to apply. By reaching students earlier, the Keep Florida Bright Initiative aims to ensure more students are aware of and take advantage of this opportunity.
