FAMU DRS School Supply Drop Off

Tallahassee, Fla., August 21, 2025 - Commissioner Anastasios “Stasi” Kamoutsas visited Florida A&M University Developmental Research School. He delivered school supplies donated by Florida Department of Education staff to support students and teachers as they kick off the 2025-2026 academic year. Accompanying him was the 2026 Florida Teacher of the Year, Mark Harrison, who joined in engaging with students and teachers throughout the visit. They met with FAMU leadership, toured the school’s new STEM room and visited classrooms, including one where students were engaged in an aircraft simulation project, witnessing firsthand the creativity and focus of the students in real time. The Commissioner also personally handed out supply-filled gift bags to teachers to show appreciation for their hard work. His visit highlighted the Department’s commitment to providing resources that enhance classroom learning and support educators.
