Academy & Career-Themed Course Registration

School districts are annually required to register career-themed courses offered in secondary school as well as high school and middle school career and professional academies. Industry certifications earned in career-themed courses are eligible for additional full-time equivalent (FTE) membership in the FEFP calculation.

Under current rules, the following windows for academies and career themed courses are required:

Academy Registration – High School and Middle School

  • Annual Registration Window: Mid-August to Mid-September with a correction window from October 1st to the last business day in October.
  • Appendix Y of the annual Student Information System database manual lists all registered academies.
  • 2023-24 Academy Registration form (Excel)

Career-Themed Course Registration

  • Three Annual Registration Windows:
    • First window from October 16 to the last business day in November.
    • Second window from February 1 to first business day in March.
    • Third window from July 15 to the last business day in August.
  • Appendix FF of the annual Student Information System database manual lists all registered career-themed courses.
