The recipient of the 2021 Principal of the Year will be awarded a cash prize of $3,500. State finalists will be awarded a check for $1,000, and each district winner will be awarded a check for $270.

Jennifer Pryor Halter has served as the Principal at Green Cove Springs Junior High School for six years. During this time, the school has maintained an A rating for their school grade. Ms. Halter sets high expectations for all of the students at the school. She initiated Cougar Nation, a school-wide mathematics program to provide targeted support to students. She also created academic acceleration opportunities for all students with the establishment of Pre-AICE courses. Through her leadership, Green Cove Springs Junior High School received the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support Gold School Award in 2020.
